AD Ports Group has joined a strategic concession at the Port of Douala in partnership with Africa Ports Development, committing an investment of Dh320 million to develop a modern dry bulk terminal. The project marks a significant step in expanding trade infrastructure and enhancing regional supply chain capacity in Cameroon, with completion targeted by 2028.
The new dry bulk terminal is expected to substantially increase cargo-handling efficiency and throughput at the Port of Douala, one of Central Africa’s most important maritime gateways. By modernising port infrastructure and introducing advanced logistics systems, the initiative aims to support growing demand for bulk commodities including agricultural products, minerals, and construction materials.
This investment aligns with AD Ports Group’s broader global expansion strategy, focused on strengthening international trade corridors and enhancing maritime connectivity between Africa, the Middle East, and other global markets. The development will not only improve operational capacity but also enhance supply chain reliability, reduce turnaround times, and create new economic opportunities within the region.
The partnership with Africa Ports Development reflects a collaborative approach to infrastructure growth, combining technical expertise, capital investment, and operational excellence. Once operational, the terminal is projected to boost Cameroon’s import and export capabilities, reinforcing the country’s role as a regional trade hub serving landlocked nations in Central Africa.
By 2028, the expanded port infrastructure is expected to significantly increase bulk cargo capacity, supporting economic diversification and industrial development. The project will also contribute to job creation, improved logistics services, and enhanced competitiveness for businesses operating across regional markets.
Overall, the Dh320 million concession underscores AD Ports Group’s commitment to sustainable infrastructure development and long-term trade partnerships. The investment strengthens Cameroon’s maritime sector while advancing regional supply chain resilience and positioning the Port of Douala as a key driver of economic growth in Central Africa.
