ADNOC Distribution has turbocharged its sustainability engine in 2024, as revealed in its latest Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) report, submitted to the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange. The company’s actions speak louder than words—delivering impressive wins across all six sustainability pillars and reinforcing its role as a clean energy champion in the UAE.
In a year marked by transition and innovation, ADNOC Distribution made headlines by converting 100% of its UAE fleet to biofuels, cutting down emissions significantly. That’s not all—its electric vehicle (EV) chargers are now powered entirely by clean and renewable energy. With 220 fast and super-fast EV chargers rolled out across the country and a second green hydrogen refueling station launched, ADNOC Distribution is paving the way for a sustainable mobility revolution.
The company also put its green thumb to work by planting over 25,000 mangrove seeds and recycling more than 5.8 million plastic bottles through smart vending machines. These initiatives support biodiversity and strengthen local ecosystems—no negative environmental impact was reported in 2024.
Financially, ADNOC Distribution hit record highs with Dh3.86 billion in EBITDA and Dh35.45 billion in revenues. It reported a stellar 71.4% In-Country Value contribution and continued to invest in expanding its fuel and retail network. Emiratisation soared past 62%, with a diverse workforce spanning 77 nationalities and an increased representation of women in STEM and leadership roles.
Safety remained a cornerstone: zero fatalities and no high-consequence injuries were reported, thanks to rigorous audits and fatigue management systems. Meanwhile, governance saw a boost with the formation of a Board-level ESG Subcommittee, aligning sustainability deeper into strategic decision-making.
CEO Eng. Bader Saeed Al Lamki declared 2024 “a transformative year,” while ESG Chair Paula Disberry emphasized that sustainability is both a responsibility and a growth catalyst. With eyes firmly on Net Zero by 2045 and a 25% carbon intensity reduction by 2030, ADNOC Distribution is not just participating in the clean energy transition—it’s leading it.
