The United Arab Emirates marked International Human Fraternity Day by reaffirming its strong commitment to promoting tolerance, coexistence, and peaceful dialogue among cultures and religions worldwide. Observed annually on February 4, the day reflects the values enshrined in the Document on Human Fraternity, signed in Abu Dhabi in 2019 by His Holiness Pope Francis and His Eminence Dr Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Al-Azhar.

On this occasion, the UAE highlighted its continued leadership in advancing human fraternity through global initiatives that foster mutual respect, equality, and understanding across diverse communities. The country’s approach is rooted in its belief that dialogue and cooperation are essential foundations for global peace and sustainable development.

Key initiatives underscored include the work of the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity, which promotes the principles of the historic document through education, policy engagement, and international collaboration. The UAE also continues to support the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity, a prestigious global honour that recognises individuals and organisations making outstanding contributions to peace, coexistence, and humanitarian action.

Interfaith dialogue remains central to the UAE’s efforts. The country regularly hosts international conferences, forums, and cultural programmes that bring together religious leaders, policymakers, scholars, and youth to exchange perspectives and build bridges between communities. Landmark projects such as the Abrahamic Family House in Abu Dhabi stand as a powerful symbol of coexistence, housing a mosque, church, and synagogue within one complex.

The UAE’s commitment extends beyond dialogue to practical action. Through humanitarian aid, development assistance, and peace-building efforts, the country works to address the root causes of conflict and inequality, reinforcing shared human values. These efforts align with the UAE’s broader vision of building inclusive societies where diversity is seen as a strength rather than a challenge.

By marking International Human Fraternity Day, the UAE once again positioned itself as a global advocate for tolerance and peaceful coexistence. The occasion served as a reminder that, in an increasingly interconnected world, fostering understanding and compassion among people of different backgrounds is not only a moral responsibility but also a pathway to lasting global stability and prosperity.
