The UAE has once again proven its commitment to fostering happiness and well-being, securing the 21st spot in the 2025 World Happiness Report. This achievement not only places the UAE ahead of global powerhouses like the UK, US, and France, but also cements its position as the happiest nation in the Arab world.
Compiled by Gallup, the annual World Happiness Report evaluates 147 nations based on key indicators, including GDP per capita, social support, healthy life expectancy, freedom to make life choices, perceptions of corruption, and generosity. The rankings are derived from life satisfaction surveys conducted between 2022 and 2024, offering a comprehensive overview of global happiness trends.
Finland, known for its breathtaking landscapes and high quality of life, continues to dominate the rankings for the eighth consecutive year. Meanwhile, Mexico and Costa Rica have made surprise entries into the top 10, reflecting their strong sense of community and well-being. The United States, however, saw a slight decline, landing at 24th place.
Across the Arab world, the UAE’s leadership in happiness is followed by Kuwait (30th globally), Saudi Arabia (32nd), Oman (52nd), Bahrain (59th), Libya (79th), Algeria (84th), Iraq (101st), and the Palestinian Territories (108th). These rankings highlight the UAE’s continued efforts to enhance the quality of life for its citizens and residents through innovative policies, social initiatives, and economic growth.
With sustainable development, social well-being, and innovation at its core, the UAE’s Vision 2031 and National Wellbeing Strategy continue to drive progress. From world-class infrastructure to forward-thinking social policies, the country’s dedication to ensuring happiness as a national priority is evident.
As the world navigates economic and social challenges, the UAE stands out as a beacon of optimism and progress, proving that happiness isn’t just a goal—it’s a way of life.
