Emirates has issued a travel advisory for the first week of January 2026, warning customers of a significant surge in passenger movements from January 2 to 5. The airline anticipates a peak in departures and arrivals during this period, reflecting the high demand typical of the post-holiday travel season. In response, Emirates is urging passengers to plan ahead, arrive at the airport early, and make use of available services designed to streamline their airport experience.
Passengers are strongly encouraged to arrive at Dubai International Airport (DXB) four hours prior to their scheduled flight departure. This guidance ensures adequate time for check-in, baggage drop, security screening, and boarding procedures. Emirates also recommends completing online check-in through the Emirates website or mobile application to reduce wait times and facilitate smoother airport procedures.
To further enhance convenience, Emirates offers multiple remote check-in options. The Emirates City Check-In locations in DIFC and Ajman allow passengers to check in and drop off baggage up to 24 hours before departure, providing free parking and avoiding long queues at the airport. Customers who use the DIFC facility until January 15 can also earn 2,500 Emirates Skywards Miles as a reward. Additionally, the Home Check-In service in Dubai and Sharjah is available for eligible passengers, including First Class and Platinum Skywards members, allowing staff to complete the check-in process at home, hotels, or offices.
To help passengers avoid road congestion, Emirates encourages the use of Dubai Metro, which offers a fast and convenient connection to Terminal 3. The Red Line provides direct access to the terminal, with walkways and escalators connecting passengers efficiently to check-in counters, security, and boarding gates.
Emirates emphasizes that preparation is key during this busy period. Travelers should plan for increased traffic en route to the airport, fuller car parks, and longer queues in terminals. Selecting seats in advance, ensuring travel documents are valid, and arriving early will help mitigate stress and ensure a smooth journey.
By providing these guidelines, Emirates aims to manage peak travel efficiently, maintain passenger safety and comfort, and enhance the overall travel experience during the busy first week of January 2026.
