ENOC Group and Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) have announced a partnership to launch a hydrogen fuel station at Expo City Dubai in line, with the ongoing COP28 summit. This collaboration marks a step in promoting sustainable transportation and supporting the United Arab Emirates (UAE) ambitious goals for the hydrogen sector.

The main objective of the ENOC DEWA partnership is to establish the Service Station of the Future (SSoF) a hydrogen fuel station at Expo City Dubai. This facility will stand out in the region by offering hydrogen alongside hydrocarbon fuels and electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. This initiative aligns with a vision to encourage energy solutions and foster sustainable mobility.

The SSoF is designed to cater to driver needs providing dual fuelling options at 350 and 700 bar ensuring compatibility with fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs). The layout of the station prioritizes refuelling aiming for an estimated refuelling time of 7 minutes per vehicle. This efficiency is crucial, in enhancing the attractiveness and practicality of hydrogen vehicles.

DEWA sources its hydrogen from a pilot plant located in the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park.
DEWA uses a 1.25 MW PEM electrolyser to create hydrogen producing 20 kg every hour by utilizing solar energy during the day. The collaboration, with ENOC is a move towards incorporating hydrogen into the regular fueling infrastructure showcasing our joint efforts, in this endeavor.
